Villy and Alana work with you and their designer to ensure you get the exact custom timber home you want. They listen to your ideas, make design and product recommendations, and help you ask the questions you don’t even know to ask.

Large builders can have hundreds of homes on the go at once, making you feel like a number in a corporate machine, and in the dark as to what’s happening with your home. We only build 2-3 homes a year. From the first phone call to the handover (and beyond), you deal directly with the owners. You’ll see us onsite, involved and always know what’s happening.

Too many builders quote a low price to win a job but are vague on the actual inclusions. This means you don’t know what you are actually getting for the price quoted. We take the time to design carefully, quote accurately and specify in full so there are no nasty surprises.

Sadly, too many builders have no qualifications or experience ‘on the tools’. And those that do, are often limited to one or two specialised tasks (so your house is constructed en masse like an assembly line). Villy was trained the old-school way to build a house from start to finish. With more than 25 years on the tools, he understands every aspect and oversees your build from design to delivery.

Most builders buy mass-produced frames from a factory. But we use traditional methods to handcraft your frame onsite so it’s a perfect fit for your home. If one of the walls is a little taller, we’ll add some extra bracing or we’ll add extra support to the windward side of your house. We understand what a home truly “needs” because we’re onsite, experiencing those same conditions and can make those changes as we build. You don’t get a timber frame home custom built specifically for your lifestyle and environment from a factory.

Too many builders rely on their painters to patch gaps and cover mistakes. It’s called band-aid building. But these things will come to the surface over time (often in cracks and gaps). We prefer to do things right the first time (if you don’t leave gaps, there’s no need to fill them). All homes must comply with Australian Standards, but we don’t think these minimums should be the benchmark. We do our very best work – every day on every job.

Most builders hire individual tradies for different tasks. When one tradie cuts corners, it creates problems for everyone who follows. The all too common “she’ll be right”, “close enough” and “that’s not my problem” attitude compounds into delays and budget overruns, and a result that is a patchwork of problems. We are directly involved in, and take full responsibility for every stage of your build.

There are a multitude steps in building a custom timber home. So, no wonder it can feel a little overwhelming… We’ve built dozens of homes and have processes and systems in place to make sure everything run smoothly. Like our online project management system which tracks messages, progress and changes, so you can follow along, communicate with us and always know what’s going on. Rather than feeling stressed, you’ll enjoy the process.
